The Sheffield VC Junior Section is now into its third season.   We meet every Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.00pm.
 
The section began with a handful of players who came along to our summer play in the park sessions and now has 12 - 14 regular players.  The majority of players are girls and are aged between 11 and 16.  All abilities are catered for including beginners with no experience of the game.
 
In July 2011 we went along to an under 16s beach competition.  A wet and windy Bridlington beach was not the ideal start to our first outdoor competition and although the competition itself was curtailed it turned out to be a fun day.


 
In November 2011 the girls entered the National Under16 Championship and played Haughton VC and Middlesbrough and Acklam VC.  They lost both games 2 - 0 but considering this was the first time they had played a competitive 6 a-side match they acquitted themselves brilliantly.

Some of our girls have taken the opportunity to attend Regional Under 16/14 training.

Our sights are now set on the next competition: the National Under 15s Competition.
